They're Baaaack!!!!

Last night we all sat around and watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on T.V. (Except Emily who was at basketball practice). None of them had ever seen it! I know we tried to get them to watch it a few years ago but they didn't want to. It's my favorite Christmas movie from my childhood. They seemed to like it. Although in the movie, when the reindeer and Santa find out about Rudolph's nose they all make fun of him (even Santa!). So, Ana decided to write Santa a note. In the note she told him that he should be ashamed of himself for making fun of Rudolph. She told him not to judge a book by its cover. She said that if she had done that she would have thought he was just some giant stalker who broke into people's houses once a year and ate their food! Then...when I told her she was going to get in trouble for telling Santa that, she whispered "I don't care. He's not even real."  GASP!!!! I told her that was a gutsy thing to say- especially this time of year.

Elves mailbox

Once we finally got everyone in bed (and replaced the Santa ornament on the tree, and the mailbox under the tree which were both in Jack's bed), we collapsed into bed ourselves. I woke up this morning as usual not even thinking about the Elves. When I went upstairs to leave I saw them! I ran into Ana's room and said "The Elves are Here!" She got up and we saw them strapped to Sam's snowboard in the living room with a rope tied from the snowboard to Lucy's leash! There was a note that said they were happy to be back with us again. It was a long journey and they wouldn't have made it here until tomorrow if Lucy hadn't met them at the train station with some "transportation", and that they were glad she wasn't still mad at them for making her wear antlers last year.

Then we unpacked their bag and found their passports, Alabaster's sleigh license, their blankets and magic snow, their sled, their gingerbread house, and their teeny-tiny plates and cups that they use. The final thing we found was their "Elf Report". This year it is a bit different - it isn't a folder, but a notebook. When Ana opened it and saw the Warning- for Santa's Eyes ONLY- she slammed it shut and whispered that we have to go into another room to read it. (She likes to act like these elves aren't real, but I know she knows the truth.)

Then Emily, Sam and Jack woke up. Jack immediately went over to the Elves and scooped them up in his arms and hugged them tight. After he got a good look at all the stuff they brought, he asked if he could put them in their house and set up their dishes. That's when I had to leave for work. I caught Emily reading the first entry of the Elf Report in the bathroom and scared her half to death! As I left, Ana said she couldn't wait to see what they did tomorrow (her birthday) because last year they left her purple cupcakes.
