Alabaster’s Report

Our house smells like cars and reindeer. The little one decided to use our house for a garage today. Don’t bring him anymore cars Santa. He already has too many to fit in an elf house. The boys were well behaved for the grandparents today while the mom and dad went shopping. They came home with lots of packages. We will have to see what they bought so you don’t bring something they are already going to get.

YUCK! Those two smelly reindeer were in our house today, Santa. The little one doesn’t know the reindeer rules. Their poop may taste like tootsie rolls, but their farts smell like dirty socks! We are going to have to make something that smells good tonight and look for a new place to sleep for a few nights.

Door Prizes

When the kids got home from school today they found that the Elves had gotten into our wrapping paper and decided to give each of the kids a “Door Prize”.Wrapped doors 2  Wrapped doors 3 It also looked like they had some help from their Reindeer friends. They wrapped each of the kids’ doors with wrapping paper. And they had even put a little Elf figure on the boys’ bedroom door. And if you look closely, you will see the one of the reindeer was doing much “helping” at all. He was face first in the M&M bag!

Not only did they make a mess with all the doors, but they left all the paper and tape and scissors on the floor too! What a surprise this was since we had company coming that night. The kids’ grandparents were coming up to stay with us for a day or two so mom and papa could go out and do some Christmas shopping. Good thing they already know that mom isn’t the best housekeeper…especially when she has little Elves running around her house!Wrapped doors

Alabaster’s Report

We spent the morning getting ready for the Olson’s company. I believe it is the grandparents that are staying with them. They brought a very tiny dog with them. I wonder if this one can fly? The grandparents are staying in Emily’s room. The girls are gone. It is supposed to be a big snow tomorrow- I wonder if they have ever had snow cream? They’ve all been good. We’ve heard there was some Christmas shopping today. Hope they got lots of stuff for the kids!! We have so far kept the Grinch from coming back, and our friends are here to visit – but it’s awfully crowded in our house. The little boy Jack is still awake tonight. I think he must have had a long nap or something. Sam is asleep- did you know he giggles in his sleep if you tickle his toes? So does his grandpa!!

A Fire at our House

This morning we found that the Elves had a little bit of fun last night after we all went to bed. They invited some friends over as well as some of their new friends from our house and had a campfire in our dining room. They were all sitting around the campfire when we woke up this morning. Each of them had a s'more (or 2 or 3...) and several of them were roasting more marshmallows (the really were roasted- one was even burned just like I do all the time!) Their note said:

There's nothing better than sitting around a campfire roasting s'mores with friends. But your dog Lucy almost scared the reindeer poop out of Bernard. She tried to EAT him! She better watch her back because Bernard can be tricky. Oh, and Spongebob keeps trying to karate chop all the s'mores. He's weerd.

I think Bernard is the Reindeer right in the middle

Notice the karate chop coming from Spongebob on the left
They had all the fixin's...a campfire, marshmallows, chocolate and actual mini s'mores. Hey- at least they were quiet and didn't wake us up last night!

Alabaster’s Report

The Grinch showed up today. We had to chase him away while we were trying to prove we are as fun as last year. They don’t know that the best is yet to come. Hee hee hee!

Guess Who Stopped at our House?

So, after having had a quiet few days with the Elves (not such a bad thing if you ask me), I got a call at work from Ana when she got home from school. She whispered..."if you find the Elves in a snow bank, it's not my fault. The Elves hate me!" Needless to say I was a bit perplexed. Usually when she calls me it is to ask if she can do something with a friend after school. So I kept asking her what was going on...but she would only whisper and I couldn't hear her. Finally she just said she would text me.

A few minutes later I get this:

Ana's bedroom door covered in tape
 And then I get this...

That's saran wrap all over the entry into the kitchen!
The pictures aren't very fabulous, but you can get the drift. Those little Elves were in rare form! Ana also said that they had turned every thing in her bedroom upside down. And there is a lot of stuff in her room!

Oh, but then Ana told me that there was more but she was going to wait for me to get home. YIKES! More??? I decided it was probably a good idea to leave work and go pick up Jack so I could see what other messes they had made. When I picked Jack up I told him that we had some naughty little Elves at our house, and he asked if it was the Grinch! Hmmm....did he know something I didn't?

Grinch Poo

When we got home we found that the Grinch had indeed been to our house! He left little piles of Grinch poop in each of the kids rooms...ewwww G.R.O.S.S.!!!  The little poem said this:

The Grinch has been here and he left just one clue…
This little green pile of Grinchy “Poo”
But why did he do it? Did he want to get caught?
As the Grinch would say, “I most certainly did not!”
But the Elves scared him away, off he went-homeward bound…
Leaving little green piles all over the ground!

There was also a note attached to a grinch Make-A-Mask hanging from the shower curtain in the bathroom (which Emily said scared her half to death when she went to the bathroom after school).  The note said to color the masks to wear while watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" tonight on t.v. There was also a grinchy word search attached too - with some new crayons!

Not something you expect to see while going to the bathroom!

And taped to the T.V. in the living room was a Grinch Trivia Quiz. (Which we did during the commercials later that night as we watched the movie!)

Finally we found this note attached to the lampshade:

We heard you talking about Christmas presents last night. Don't forget about those who don't have as much as you do. Use this to buy a toy for Toys For Tots.

P.S.
Ana-
We heard you say that we weren't as much fun as last year :( That makes us sad. We will try harder. We just don't want your parents to send us back to the N.P.

The gift card on the note actually had the voices of the Elves recorded! It was sooo cute! After all the messes they left, I guess I can't be too upset since this was a really nice thing for them to do. We will have to go our shopping this weekend to pick out a toy.

They left Presents!!!

So this morning I went upstairs to leave for work and Ana was laying on the couch and there in the middle of the floor were the Elves...with PRESENTS!!!! Ooh how exciting! I wondered what they had brough the kids. I tapped Ana on the head and said "Look- presents!". And she told me: "They gave me a paper plate." A WHAT??? Yep- you heard that right, they wrapped up a paper plate- just like on her birthday! She told me that the Elves were a lot more fun last year. (I think she was a little disappointed in the present) Then the other kids woke up and came out (just as excited as I was...at first) to see presents! They ripped them open- only to find that Alabaster and Jangle had left Emily a cup, Sam his left boot, and Jack another one of his boots. Those stinkers! Their note simply said How Many Days Until Christmas?
